Web Developer at Webarena
My role as Web Developer started off as identical to my previous role as Implementer at Platform Interactive where I would turn a Web Design in PSD format to a working webpage using HTML and CSS then implement it into the Webarena in-house Content Management System. My role quickly started to include PHP and MySQL programming duties.
My duties included:
- HTML / CSS based design implementation
- Ensuring websites work in multiple browsers
- Development of new Modules for the Content Management System
- Bug fixes and upgrades to existing Modules for the CMS
Web Programmer at Webarena
As the company grew my workload for the dual roles of Web Developer and Programmer became too much and I became the sole Web Programmer for the in-house Content Management System.
My duties included:
- Development of new Modules for the Content Management System
- Bug fixes and upgrades to existing Modules for the CMS
- Training of and giving guidance to the new Web Developer
Implementer at Platform Interactive
My role as Implementer was to take a Web Design provided by the Designer in PSD format and turn it into a working webpage using HTML and CSS then implement it into the Platform Interactive in-house Content Management System.
My duties included:
- HTML / CSS based design implementation
- Ensuring websites work in multiple browsers
Implementation Team Leader at Platform Interactive
I was promoted to Implementation Team Leader around July 2007 and my role became focused on managing other team members and improving processes, while still implementing websites when time permitted.
My additional duties included:
- Scheduling project work
- Assessing the right team members for the right tasks
- Mentoring team members
- Implementation Process improvement and development
- Reviewing team members´ quality of work
- Reviewing designs from graphic designers
